It appears that the rapper Bow Wow is getting both major props and jeers for his recent comments about the hit Fox show, “Empire.” Speaking with Global14.com, Bow Wow reflected on the show and surprised many of his fans by saying that he would never appear on the show because it perpetuates too many stereotypes about African Americans.
Here’s some of what he had to say:
“When we were still filming Cyber episodes, Empire‘s first episode premiered. Fans were saying, ‘Man, you should have been on the show.’ But we all don’t rap or play basketball. We can do so many things. There are young African-Americans who are intelligent enough to work at the FBI. That’s what’s so bright. Hopefully, I can help start a new wave of young black actors who don’t want to stereotype themselves.”
Do you think the show will suffer because Bow Wow decides he won't make a cameo?
With Guest Stars like Oprah, Common, Alicia Keys, Denzel Washington and more slated for the second season...we think not.
This is surprising coming from Bow Wow considering he hosted 106 & Park on BET and is currently engaged to Love and Hip Hop New York cast member Erica Mena.
