College students spit and throw beer bottles at veterans

Veterans attending the Warrior Beach Retreat in Panama City Beach were disrespected by the ZBT chapters of The University of Florida and Emory University. Sadly for everyone involved, it seems like these disgusting allegations are likely true.

The incident occurred at The Laketown Wharf in Panama City Beach which was hosting both the veterans and the ZBT fraternity on their Spring Formal.

Update: At least three Florida ZBTs have been expelled from the fraternity. Emory has issued a statement saying they do not believe any of their students were involved but are continuing the investigation.

“They actually spit on me and my service dog as well and that’s just so disrespectful and it hurts. I come and I feel honored and I feel safe and that I belong, but now I feel like I’m defending myself,” said wounded veteran Nicholas Connole.

Everyone does stupid stuff on their formal, but once you start spitting on US Armed Forces veterans, peeing on the American flag, and throwing beer cans at men who have risked their lives for your freedom like these Zeta Beta Tau brothers are accused of doing did, there will be consequences. There must be consequences.

As of yet, the University of Florida’s ZBT chapter has suspended operations pending an investigation by the school’s president.

Congratulations ZBTs, you’ve officially disgraced the entire Greek community. We don’t even want to get started with how the University of Florida and Emory will react. We wouldn’t be surprised if those involved will be expelled.

The President of the Florida chapter of ZBT sent this apology letter to Linda Cope, the founder of the Warrior Beach Retreat.
