Detroit Police Chief James Craig has confirmed that the bodies of two children have been found inside a freezer on the city's east side.
The children have been identified as an 11-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl. The discovery was made in a townhome in the 800 block of St. Aubin. Their bodies were found inside a bag in the freezer. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
The mother is currently in custody as a person of interest.
According to Chief Craig, the woman who lived in the home was supposed to be evicted. A Wayne County Sheriff's bailiff found the bodies upon arriving at the home to evict the woman.
Two other children, ages 11 and 17, have been taken into protective custody.
