A T-shirt sold at a popular clothing store is causing some controversy just in time for Memorial Day.
People have taken to social media to express their disapproval of the shirt, which depicts an upside-down black and white American flag.
It's sold at Pacific Sunwear stores and on it's website, pacsun.com.
On the website, it said the company that designed and distributed the shirt is A$AP Worldwide.
It retails for $23.95.
PacSun's Facebook page has been littered with negative comments about the shirt.
An American flag flown upside down is a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property and those opposed to the shirt feel that unless PacSun was being robbed at gunpoint, there was no reason for such an offensive shirt to be on display. However, backers of the shirt say that the flag is rightfully being flown upside down as many feel the country is in a state of distress and are allowed to fly the flag in such a manner thanks to freedom of speech.
