A bystander was shot in the leg after two men got into a fight on a Metrobus in Southeast D.C. on Friday.
Metro says the woman was shot in the leg on a 92 metro bus near the intersection of Good Hope Road and Naylor Roads around 3:30 p.m.
The two men who started the fight are now in custody. The woman is expected to be okay.
Metro Transit Police are still investigating.
Police said two men, ages 19 and 20, got into a fight aboard the packed bus - one had a hammer, the other a gun.
Investigators and witnesses said the woman, an innocent bystander, was wounded when one of the men fired his gun.
Both men were taken into custody by police at the scene, but officers were scouring the area near the bus looking for the gun that was used.
Police said one of the two men, 23-year-old Wade Patterson of D.C., was charged with assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly firing the gun.
