Michael B. Jordan Responds to Outrage Over His ‘Fantastic Four’ Human Torch Character Being Black

When Marvel Comics announced that Michael B. Jordan had been cast to play the role of The Human Torch in its upcoming Fantastic Four film, the news was met with an onslaught of racist criticism, much like the response to Amandla Stenberg, a black girl, being cast to play the role of Rue in the first Hunger Games film.

Now Michael has responded to the criticism in a powerful Entertainment Weekly piece titled Why I’m Torching the Color Line written by the actor himself.

Empire Gets 18 Episodes For Season 2, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Chris Rock To Guest Star

“Empire” has signed some big names for season two.

The Fox hit has enlisted Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys for guest starring roles in the upcoming second season, the network announced to advertisers at its upfront presentation in New York on Monday.

The musical drama previously featured big guest stars in its freshman season as well, including Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Gladys Knight. There’s no word on how the three new additions will be used.

Pablo Picasso Art Piece Sets New Auction Record At $179 Million

A painting from Pablo Picasso set a world record for artwork at auction, selling for $179 million in New York on Monday night.

“Women of Algiers (Version O)” was part of a sale at Christie’s auction house that also featured Alberto Giacometti’s life-size sculpture “Pointing Man,” which was poised to set a record as the most expensive sculpture sold at auction. They were among two dozen masterpieces from the 20th century Christie’s offered in a curated sale titled “Looking Forward to the Past.”
 The Picasso price included the auction house’s premium.

American Idol To End In 2016

Fox is lowering the curtain on "American Idol," ending a series that dominated television throughout the 2000s and made stars of the likes of Simon Cowell, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

The network announced Monday that "American Idol" will go off the air after its 15th and final season next spring. The cast from the past few seasons, with Ryan Seacrest as host and Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. as judges, will return for a season-long celebration of the show's history.

Untitled Janet Jackson Album To Be Released On July 10 2015

Don't call it a comeback.  For years rumors have been swirling that Janet Jackson would be dropping another album and today we might have gotten a clue as to when that may happen. 

According to this list of album release dates from Atlantic Records, the label Janet is curretly signed to, Ms. Jackson has an yet to be titled album due out on July 10 of this year. 

This would be Janet's eleventh album and her first album since her 2008 album Discipline which was released on Island Def Jam with her then boyfriend Jermaine Dupri.
