Mattel, the company which is responsible for manufacturing the famous Barbie doll, has announced that they will be creating a campaign to honor today’s influential women. There are six influential “Sheroes” who will receive their own “one-of-a-kind doll.”
One of the women in particular is Oscar-nominated director Ava Duvernay. Duvernay is the Academy Award Best Picture Nominated director of “Selma” and also the founder of the African American Film Festival Releasing Movement.

DJ Skee recently broke the news that Jay Z and Beyonce will be putting their joint album out through TIDAL.
A new report from DJ Skee suggests that Jay Z and Beyonce's rumored joint album is "nearing completion" and it'll be offered as a Tidal exclusive upon release. Such a move would easily be the biggest thing the service has offered, but whether it will pay off is yet to be seen.

LisaRaye kept it too real for the people in regards to what Black female celebrities can get away with versus White female celebrities. The "Single Ladies" star recently stopped by 97.9’s The Box, and she didn’t hold her tongue.
As she was discussing her love for the celebrities who are unapologetically themselves, she told the truth about “us vs. them” (read: Black folks vs. White folks) in Hollywood.
“You know, we got different sides,” LisaRaye said. “Them and us. When it’s them, they can do whatever they want to do. And it’s like you can date five or six guys.”

Netflix has ordered a 13-episode season of Fuller House. John Stamos will produce the Full House sequel and guest star in his reprised role of Uncle Jesse. Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber will star. Discussions with other Full House cast members Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin are said to be "ongoing." Jeff Franklin returns as the show’s creator.

Look like Empire is helping keep down the unemployment rate.
Assistants to Lucious and Cookie, Becky and Porsha are finally getting some respect. TV Line reports that Gabourey Sidibe, who plays Becky, and Ta'Rhonda Jones, who plays the scene-stealing Porsha, have been bumped up as series regulars for the second season of Empire.
Last month, following Empire‘s Season 1 finale, Ilene Chaiken commented on the series-regular prospects of Sidibe and Jones, telling TVLine’s Michael Slezak, “We love them both, and we want them both back as ongoing characters on the show.”

"It's not like I thought the show wasn't working any more, or that I didn't know how to do it," Jon Stewart said earlier this week in an exclusive interview with The Guardian. The former Daily show host opened up for the first time about why he was leaving the show. "It was more, 'Yup, it's working. But I'm not getting the same satisfaction.'"

The Girls are back and the gloves are off. If you thought they had squashed all the beef they had during the season, pull out your grill because they're not done yet.
